We use a number of delivery partners across New Zealand to ensure we offer you the best delivery price and the most secure delivery service. It is possible when you purchase more than one item that you may receive multiple deliveries managed by separate delivery partner. For most orders within the Auckland region, please allow 2-3 working days for delivery. For all other regions of New Zealand please see below information. Please note that during busy periods such as Christmas, the lead time will be longer than usual due to an increase in demand.
Receiving your delivery
IMPORTANT NOTICE - CHECK YOUR PURCHASE - ONCE YOU HAVE SIGNED FOR YOUR GOODS YOU HAVE ACCEPTED THAT THEY ARE NOT DAMAGED
Drivers will place the items in the desired location as directed and then ask you to sign for receipt of the merchandise in good order. Please note that the delivery company does not unwrap your goods or remove packaging.
It is important that you check your delivery before signing for it, check your goods match your invoice and only sign if you are completely satisfied with the condition of the cartons or packaging. Check your goods thoroughly before signing for them. This may be a waiver of your rights to claim afterwards. You have the right to reject the delivery if you believe there are issues with the product. We suggest you sign "STI" (Subject to inspection) in capital letters when you sign for the items if you are unable to inspect the items. This enables us to potentially claim against the carrier. If you just sign for the order you are deemed to have received it "In good order and condition". This can potentially jeopardise claims.
If there are any discrepancies please highlight and document on the delivery docket before you sign.
The delivery staff will follow the delivery instructions you have supplied when purchasing online. We cannot be held responsible for any loss of goods left unattended at your request.

Any delivery times are general only. For larger deliveries the carrier will contact to confirm.
Physical delivery address required as delivery is by courier
We cannot deliver to a P.O Box address so please provide a physical address. Delivery will be by courier or freight forwarder. An email will be sent to you when the goods are dispatched.
Furniture items are delivered by our home delivery partners in Metro areas. We deliver to most locations throughout New Zealand, however there may be a few locations we do not offer delivery for large items to. Our Head Office team can assist for further information. Often this can be to the nearest town or depot.
Delivery times vary by stock availability and postcode. Products can either be 'in stock' or 'available for pre-order'. 'In stock' products will be processed ex Auckland within 1-2 business days and you will receive them within 2-3 business days in Auckland, 5-7 business days for metropolitan and regional areas, or 10-14 business days for South Island locations.
Once your items are available for delivery, our home delivery partner will contact you to book a delivery time. To get an update on your furniture delivery please call our Head Office Warehouse team.
Storage & missed deliveries
Please note: If you miss your furniture delivery, you may be charged a re delivery fee. Our carrier will always call prior to your delivery date to ensure you will be available to receive the item, so if you know that you are not going to be available, please let us know.
You must collect or take delivery of the products within 14 days from the day that we notify you that they are available. If you fail to do so, The Design Store may charge storage fees of $50 per delivery per week and/or cancel your order.
The Design Store is able to offer furniture assembly services and rubbish removal within our Auckland delivery area, should you need us to assemble an item for you.
